May 2025 update below! ————————————————————————- My name is Sarah, I am a volunteer at @willyouhelpmyfriend and I am running this campaign on behalf of Ashraf Qishta in Gaza. Whatever you donate, I will make sure that the he can access the money as soon as possible even if the fundraiser goal is not reached. Feel free to contact me for questions, or if you wish to receive Ashraf’s phone number to connect with him directly 🙂 Click here to see Ashraf’s verification post on Instagram: Help My Friend – Ashraf Qishta
About the family: Before the war, Ashraf (18 years old) lived with his 5 brothers and 5 sisters in Rafah (the Al-Janina neighbourhood). Ashraf wanted to become an engineer, and they had a peaceful life, as the father used to work in agriculture. After the war started, they suffered many bombings and saw a lot of things that children should never have to see. During a bombing, their mother was injured to the head and Ashraf was tragically hurt so badly that he has lost one of his hands. As of April 2025, they were displaced from Rafah to al-Mawasi camp west of Khan Younis, where they are currently residing in a small make-shift tent. Since after the end of the 2025 ceasefire, zero humanitarian aid has entered the Gaza strip, prices have increased incredibly fast, and they depend completely on donations from outside to buy the bare necessities for themselves. We know that you are all tired and heart-broken from watching the suffering in Gaza on the news every day, but your donations really do make a difference in keeping the population of Gaza alive, and in knowing that there are still people standing by them and supporting them. Feel free to reach out to me through this platform if you have any questions. All the best, and Free Palestine, Sarah
Dear friends,
We want to take a moment to thank each of you who has donated, shared, and supported Ashraf and his family. Your support has given Ashraf and his family moments of relief in a time filled with fear and loss. Ashraf asked me to share his gratitude with each of you—your donations are not just financial help; they are a reminder that they are not forgotten. Here is a personal message to all of you, written by Ashraf:
Dear friends and ,
Even though we don’t know each other personally, I now feel like we’ve known each other for a long time, perhaps even since my good life, when I was a typical teenager full of dreams and hopes for my future. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers and for being so generous to me and my family.
This is a message to express my sincere gratitude and to let everyone know that despite what we constantly face, with your help… we feel seen, loved, and understood.Thank you to the benefactors from the bottom of my heart for your constant giving. My letters are unable to write to you everything I have tried to do, and I do not find in my heart what I carry for you except love. To the owner of the kind heart, to the owner of the noble soul, to the owner of the unique smile, to the one who fought and contributed a lot for me, to the people of goodness. Thank you very much for everything you have given for me. Ashraf ❤️❤️
At this moment, prices in Gaza are soaring beyond comprehension—a single bag of flour now costs over $400, when it can even be found. Families like Ashraf’s are forced to make impossible choices between eating and treating a sick child.
The people of Gaza need us now more than ever. Please keep sharing, please keep giving if you can. Every act of support means hope, dignity, and the chance to survive.
With deep thanks, on behalf of Ashraf and his family, Sarah
